Our Mission
Help the House Foundation holds a dedication to providing a safety net, fostering community care, and advocating for lasting change within the hospitality industry for every member of the front and back of house. By fostering a community of advocates and ambassadors, we’re creating a culture where care, stability, and resilience are not just encouraged but celebrated. Through financial assistance, proactive support, accessible resources, and culture, we’re building a community where well-being and advocacy are the norm—not the exception.
Physical Health
Kitchens are full of hazards that can injure even the most experienced of chefs. We are here to help you afford to take care of yourself so small injuries don’t become big problems. When serious incidents do occur, we are here to ensure you have the support you need.
Mental Health
This industry weighs more on an individual than most. From long hours, to long stretches with no breaks, to slow days causing a concern for stability, to struggling with alcohol or drug dependencies, it can wear you down. We are here to create a network of individuals who have been there (or are there) and have gotten through it. When you are heard, you are seen.
General Wellbeing
Life happens sometimes and work gets disrupted. Whether it’s emergency funds for basic living needs: a roof over your head, food in your house, clothes on your body, or something more immediate like a replacement mattress for one charred in a house fire. We are here to help when no one else will.
We don’t want to just be a means to see tomorrow, we want to be a call to action and a beacon of hope.
Many people in the industry know there are other people fighting the same battles but never reach for a hand.
We want our foundation to not only be the place people go when they need help but also a reminder that we all need to be there for each other when we are able. It can be through changing social norms, business structure, scheduling, learning how to set boundaries or advocate for yourself and others, or many other approachable pieces.
The more we make it known that we are all fighting similar battles, the easier those battles will be to fight.
