Our Mission
Help the House Foundation is dedicated to providing a safety net, fostering community care, and advocating for lasting change within the hospitality industry. Through a community of advocates and ambassadors, we’re creating a culture where care, stability, and resilience are not just encouraged, but celebrated. Whether it be financial assistance, proactive support, or accessible resources, well-being and advocacy are becoming the norm - not the exception. In the back of house, front of house, the whole house.
Physical Health
We know restaurants are full of hazards, even for the most experienced of workers. Between medical expenses, and missing work, injuries can be a huge financial burden. We are here to help you afford to take care of yourself so that small injuries, don’t become big problems.
Mental Health
This industry can be strenuous on any individual for a multitude of reasons. From long hours, stretches of no time off, to slow days causing concern for stability, or substance dependencies, it can wear a person down. We are here to create a community of individuals who understand, who have been there, and who have gotten through it. When you are head, you are seen.
General Wellbeing
Life happens, work gets disrupted. You can never predict when something may go awry: a roof over your head, food on the table, clothes on your back, or something more immediate like a repair on your car that just broke down. We are here to help, when you feel like you don’t know who to turn to.
We don’t want to just be a means to see tomorrow, we want to be a call to action and a beacon of hope.
Many people in the industry know there are other people fighting the same battles but never reach for a hand.
We want our foundation to not only be the place people go when they need help, but to also serve as a reminder that when we are able, we need to be there for each other. It can be through changing social norms, business structure, scheduling, learning to set boundaries, advocating for yourself or others, or many other approachable pieces.
The more we learn that many of us are fighting the same battles, the easier it will be to fight those battles.
